IPR4Data Simulation Lab at Algebra University 2024-08-23
From July 21 to 26, 2024, Algebra University transformed into a center of innovation and discovery in the field of intellectual property protection. The IPR4Data Simulation Lab course, part of this year’s Summer School and run as part of the IPR4SC project, attracted 24 enthusiastic students ready to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of patents and data analysis.
From the very first days of the course, the participants were taken on an exciting journey. They first learned about the basic concepts of patents, but quickly moved on to more complex topics. They learned how to conduct effective patent searches, what patents look like and the key role they play in innovation. The course combined theoretical knowledge with practical skills and offered participants complete immersion into the world of advanced analysis.
But that’s not all – the course provided participants with tools that are changing the way they work in this field. Thanks to hands-on exercises with tools such as Espacenet, Google Patents, The Lens and PQAI, participants learned how to conduct advanced patent searches and analyze the results. And that's not all! The course utilized IP Monitor, a unique tool developed from Algebra University that is a search engine and contains valuable information on IPR databases and tools.
The skills acquired during the course open up a wide range of professional opportunities for graduates. The participants had acquired a solid foundation for future work in R&D, legal and business departments of technology companies, start-ups and patent offices.
A post-course survey was conducted which confirmed that participants were extremely satisfied with the course. Comments such as “This was an amazing learning and practice opportunity that is already paying dividends in my future work” and “The IPR4Data Simulation Lab is a real treat for anyone who wants to understand and utilize the potential of intellectual property protection” confirm the value of this training.
Algebra University mission is to provide education that combines theory and practice to ensure the highest quality of education. The IPR4Data Simulation Lab course was a great opportunity to fulfill this mission and combine a passion for innovation with practical skills that can change the future of participants’ careers.
