Project dissemination by Faculty of Information Studies In Novo Mesto 2023-08-08

On May 13, 2023, the 17th annual competition "Best Business Concept 2023 - Competition for Green Innovations" was held in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. This event was organized within the framework of the European project GREENOVET through the Center for Excellence in Green Innovations (CIZI) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje. The competition was intended for high schools and secondary vocational schools in the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The main goal was to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of young people, as well as to enable them to contact and network with like-minded people and with institutions that can further provide additional support in the development of their ideas.
The top 16 teams were part of the grand finale at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, which included the participation of over 100 students and mentors from secondary schools. The winners will participate in the international competition for green innovations, which will be held in September 2023 in Skopje.

The IPR4SC project was presented in this competition. It was emphasized that it is a project supported by the European Union, which refers to intellectual property rights. This project was launched in June 2022 and will last a total of three years. The project targets the lack of IT and intellectual property management skills that include digital and entrepreneurial skills. This lack is an obstacle that will affect economic growth and greater sustainability. It is especially intended for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in innovation in the industry. It was highlighted them that the goal of this project is to reduce the risks faced by young entrepreneurs in terms of protecting their rights. Along the way, we help them understand the difference between various forms of protection depending on whether it is a patent, trademark, industrial design, etc. To reduce the risks they face, we decided to develop skills that will help them in using databases. In that direction, we will use innovative content, that is, we will develop a technological platform (IP monitor). Its function is to be used as a tool that will facilitate users' access to various databases in the field of intellectual property rights.
The organizer of the event invited us to be part of their teaching process with the opportunity to present the project to the students of regular studies at the mechanical engineering faculty.
