Towards the IPR Monitor – help appreciated 2022-12-05

The EU is now promoting efficient signposting solutions. To allow for efficient decision-supporting tool in terms of suggesting available and appropriate IP data sources, IPR tools, technology transfer platforms and IP attorneys registries, the IPR Monitor will be available as an open source interactive web page, and will subsequently support the business decisions related to innovations. IPR Monitor will include several hundred IPR resources.

We are currently identifying the data sources, tools, platforms and registries, and analyzing their functionalities and other attributes. Since we are especially interested in how these tools can support innovation related to sustainable and circular solutions, we were surprised to find relatively small numbers of IPR online resources that allow for this, with some notable exceptions among the databases being the WIPO’s IPC Green Inventory, which facilitates searches for patent information relating to Environmentally Sound Technologies (as listed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change).

After we complete the generation of the IPR monitor resources and their functionalities and tool testing, our next step will be taking care of the content development with translations and doing the web and software development. We can’t wait to coordinate and cooperate the pilot testing! At the end of the year 2023 IP-Monitor will be born!

However, we are still looking for IPR tools with particular functionalities related to identifying and/or managing in particular the green, sustainable and/or even circular solutions. Do you know of some? Do let us know.
