World Intellectual Property Day 2023 - Video Competition 2023-03-03

The competition is one of the activities within this year's World Intellectual Property Day, the central theme of which will be female creators, inventors and entrepreneurs.

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every year on April 26 by the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), among which our partners are also included. The goal of World Intellectual Property Day is to raise awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and to honor the contribution of inventors and artists to the development of society.

As part of the theme of this year's campaign, the extraordinary successes and breakthroughs of women inventors, creators and entrepreneurs will be highlighted. The focus will be on the challenges of girls and women from all over the world who are shaping the world with their imagination, ingenuity and hard work, but often face difficulties in accessing the knowledge, skills, resources and support they need to succeed.

Participation in a video contest:
You can participate in a 90-second video that discusses the creativity and innovation of female inventors, creators and entrepreneurs, highlighting:
  • how intellectual property rights can enable women to have an even greater impact on society and the economy,
  • benefits arising from the participation of a greater number of women in innovation ecosystems.
The top 10 videos will be published on the competition platform on April 13th, where an online public vote will be held to select the three winners of the video competition.

Winners will be announced on World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, 2023.
